The team at MDB Landscaping undertakes a variety of different landscaping projects and designs. We have undertaken projects that are modern contemporary, cottage gardens, French, English, Japanese styled garden, minimal styled gardens. Every project is different as every client is different and our style and design can suit any request. We have a passion for garden design and landscaping and often have too many ideas to provide a customer so providing a portfolio of past jobs and images we hope to narrow your search on the style that suits your lifestyle. We encourage you to follow us on social media and view our past projects. All of our images are of our own work, both the design and construction of the landscaping.
The following project is a dry river creek bed which fitted into the budget for these clients. They were hoping for a running stream the entire length, but due to the complexity of access and expense it was unable to be achieved. We did however manage to add an element of water in a natural stone water feature which was within the clients budget. If there was a project you wanted undertaken and our quotation is over your budget, don’t be shy in asking to discuss other alternatives and if we are able to alter a design to best fit your budget.

Our Solutions and Ideas for the customer

Our client had a newly installed deck which overlooked a narrow strip of lawn. They wanted to have a low maintenance garden installed along this area to be view from their entertaining deck. With consideration to the clients requests we developed a design which the client later approved. Due to the complexity and expense of construction, we proposed a dry creek bed and water feature along the creek bed. This would minimise high maintenance and expense costs, compared to the alternative of a running stream bed.
Adding the rock water feature added a sensory element of sound of running water into the garden. All excavation was done by hand due to extremely difficult access for machinery. Forms were created along with a pond area. The gravel was hand selected and included river pebbles and rocks and other rock style mulches. Some of the plant species include Blue Fescue, Lomandra and Blood Grass. A bespoke water feature was created using large feature rocks hand picked for the garden. A crazy paving area using quartzite was installed to match the feature stone in the garden.
